Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information Eddy County Released Inmates may receive, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which it may be shared. It also explains how outside search, analytics, and advertising services handle data on their own systems. By continuing to use the site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you follow a link to an Eddy County, New Mexico Corrections Department, court, federal, immigration, or commercial service, that destination applies its own privacy terms.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Eddy County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy notice, retention practices, and service terms. Review those terms before submitting information that you consider sensitive.

Messages Sent to Us

If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and the contact information you provide for the purpose of reading and answering it. We do not share those communications outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government order. Do not send confidential case files, identification documents, or information meant for the Eddy County Sheriff, ECDC, NMCD, a court, or another records custodian.

Information Collected Automatically

Routine technical information may be recorded when a browser requests a page. This data helps operate the service, understand broad traffic patterns, and find errors. It can include:

  • the internet protocol address associated with the request;
  • browser name, type, and version;
  • device category and operating system;
  • pages visited and approximate time spent on them;

  • learning which Eddy County release-resource pages are useful;

Links may lead to Eddy County detention and records pages, NMCD offender and supervision resources, New Mexico courts, VINELink, BOP, ICE, or third-party search tools. Eddy County Released Inmates does not direct how those organizations collect, retain, disclose, or secure information.

New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12, governs access to qualifying records held by public custodians and recognizes that exemptions may apply. It does not turn this private reference site into the custodian of an ECDC, sheriff, court, or NMCD record. Requests for those records go to the office that created them.

Some advertising providers may observe activity across different websites to select or measure ads. That processing takes place through the provider’s systems and is governed by the provider’s own choices and disclosures.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed or transmitted only as needed to operate site functions or meet a lawful obligation. Potential recipients include:

  • search partners that receive and process submitted queries;
  • analytics vendors that measure visits and performance;
  • advertising networks that deliver or assess ads; and
  • law enforcement or government bodies acting under valid legal process.

Data Security Limits

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under our control. No website, network, storage service, or internet transmission can be promised as fully secure. We therefore cannot guarantee that data will never be intercepted, lost, altered, or accessed without permission. Avoid submitting information that is not needed for a request.

Visitors Younger Than 18

The site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the limits of information we actually hold, you may ask us to:

  • provide a copy of personal information associated with you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • delete information that is eligible for erasure; or
  • stop certain forms of processing when an opt-out applies.

These requests concern data held by this private site. They do not alter a jail, court, corrections, parole, federal, or immigration record. Contact the relevant public custodian for access, correction, sealing, or expungement matters involving official records.

This privacy notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. An updated version becomes effective when it is posted here with a revised effective date. Review this page periodically if you want to keep track of the current terms.
